How to Create A Sexy Sales Page

Every week, I make a point to learn something new. I don't know about you, but I like to save my coins when I can. So, if I can learn something new every week for free then I'm winning. There used to be a time in my mompreneur journey when I used the word try in front of my action statements. I would say things like I'm going to try to learn something new or I'm going to try to attend a training. One day, my little sister (shout out to Taylor) slapped me with some wisdom. She said, "Take the ‘try' out, and just do it". Those words have truly resonated with me. Since then, I have made it a point to speak action through my words. It's worked too. Every week since, I do learn something new… I don't try to.

Trevor Otts Breaks It Down

This past week, I joined a new group on Facebook and stumbled upon a great video featuring Trevor Otts. He was walking through the steps of sales page design or what he called creating a "sexy sales page". Although there are a lot of paid services out there that have plug and play designs, you still have to what to say to make people buy. Trevor segmented the sales page using a storyboard format. Not only did he break down where different elements of your sales pitch should go, he also gave details on what those elements entailed, all creating the storyboard for a fellow CEO's actual product. He outlined when and how often you should use a CTA (call-to-action), where you should build empathy, the number of buyer personas you should speak to, the tone you should have, the difference between marketing copy and sales copy, where the marketing copy should go, where the sales copy should go, the length of the sales page according to your goals and products, etc. etc. I could truly go on listing the gems dropped by Trevor Ott in this live stream video. If you haven't seen the video already, you should check it out below, especially if you are in this step of your business. Even if you're not in this step, eventually you will be. And this is some good info to have in your entrepreneurial arsenal.

Take Action

Because my new mantra is "take action", I was sure to take action after I saw this video. I mean, what good is gaining knowledge if you aren't going to apply it to anything? Here are some actions I'm currently working on as a result of the knowledge I gained from watching this video:

  1. Pick 1 main product from my lineup and create a sexy sales page.
  2. List at least 3 benefits for all the products in my product list.
  3. Create and optimize at least 3 buyer personas for my main product.
  4. Use storyboarding as a planning tool more often.
